Inspired (& missing) my summer camp days, Anton Hecht & I came up with the idea of a PHD summer camp: Except it would be about skillsharing between us as well as having time to make/be/chat with each other.
It was over the middle of the summer, where the university is usually deadly quiet with academics taking a holiday before the madness of the new semester, and a lull between end of year shows/graduation and the start of a new term.
We took this to our advantage and planned a 2 day summer camp. We did everything from collage as method, lino-printing, green-screening, learning how to 3D print, use InDesign, Life-drawing, screen play writing, Baking bread, Cermaics and more!
I don’t know how we fit it all in, but we had the bestest time. We even had a movie night with deliveroo’d wagamamas!
